SKILLS
Theatre Acting | Before delving into voice over, Dan's acting experience began at sixth form with Ancient Greek theatre. Participating in many great tragedies such as Medea, Antigone, and Oedipus Rex, Dan found his spark for the dramatics often led him to roles that held the attention of the audience for an extended period of time, either as a narrator, or as a character with a heartfelt monologue. |
Live Presenting and Broadcasting | After university, Dan took up a position at a local Lincolnshire radio station (SIREN Radio) as a weekend news presenter. Here he acquired the ability to engage with an audience through a new medium, while simultaneously obtaining a better understanding of the production and engineering demands required to manage a live broadcast. |
Sound and Video Editing | While completing a media based degree at university, Dan obtained professional level training in editing both sound and video formats. This has enabled Dan to elevate projects with high quality original music, sound effects, and mixing for clients that request these additional services, using software such as Adobe Audition, Premiere, Sony Vegas, Pro Tools, and Audacity to an advanced level. |

TRAINING
Audio Production Degree - University of Lincoln | Obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Audio Production at the University of Lincoln enabled Dan to hone a variety of skills, including sound design for film and television, music production, radio broadcasting, as well as post-production mixing and editing for both sound and film. With this knowledge Dan has obtained a honed ear for high quality audio, which he passes on to all projects he is a part of. |
Voiceover Training - Gravy for the Brain | While Dan's theatre training on it's own is a decent start to any actor's portfolio, this early training has since been combined with advanced, specialised voiceover tutoring provided by the internationally renowned voice coaches of Gravy For The Brain. Offering weekly courses and personal training sessions to strengthen Dan in his voice acting career, GFTB has passed down knowledge of the industry and provided the tools necessary for Dan to become a stand-out, professional voiceover artist. |
Radio Broadcasting Training - SIREN Radio | With formal education provided by the University of Lincoln in how to run a radio station, the real world training was provided by presenters and producers of SIREN Radio, a local Lincolnshire based radio station. After several months of intense courses apprenticing under and providing broadcasting assistance to live presenters, Dan began running his own weekly news show, even graduating to the point of tutoring others himself. |
Performing Arts School - Stantonbury Campus | Before Dan's voiceover career began, his acting spark began at the theatre. For two years before stepping to the more technical side of production, Dan entertained on stage with his Performing Arts School. While it has been some time since Dan's days on stage, a lot of the skills he learned have enabled a far easier transition into voiceover. |
