Dean has been sharing his love of theatre since childhood, eventually earning a theatre arts degree. His impressive theatre resume lists nearly 100 plays and musicals. In addition to theatre, Dean has an advanced degree in psychology; he is a retired psychologist. His desire to expand his creative and performance talents led him to the voiceover field. As well as being calm and reliable, he brings energy, intelligence, and a quick wit to his work.

Psychology | Okay, perhaps not the kind of skill you typically see listed on these webpages. But, Dean's background in psychology is relevant. Acting and the understanding of human behavior go hand-in-hand. In addition to his theatre degree, Dean has advanced degrees in school psychology resulting in service to schools as a psychologist and special education administrator. His dedication and professionalism earned him recognition from local, university and statewide organizations. He was a much sought after presenter at the local, state and national levels addressing childhood discipline, learning disabilities, educational evaluations and autism. He retired from this field after a career spanning 42+ years. |

Theatre Degree from Concordia College | BA, Psychology; Speech, Communication and Theatre Arts 1969 - 1973 Activities and societies: Theatre, Producer of Student Productions, Outreach Team, Chapel ChoirActivities and societies: Theatre, Producer of Student Productions, Outreach Team, Chapel Choir I graduated with two majors, Psychology and Speech/Communication and Theatre Arts, and a teaching credential. I appeared in several theatre productions. I produced concerts through Student Productions, including John Denver, Gordon Lighfoot, and Peter Yarrow. I was a member of two Outreach teams (The Twelve and Joyful Noise) and was the leader of an Outreach Team (Rejoice). During my senior year I developed a series of panel discussions that addressed each of the theatre productions. I was awarded the Outstanding Theatre Student award my senior year. I was a student narrator for the annual Christmas Concert, which is one of the foremost Christmas Events in the country. |
Voiceover Acting; Formal training through Such A Voice (SAV) | Dean completed the full course syllabus from Such A Voice that included 1:1 coaching for style/technique, engineering/setting up recording studio, and marketing. This professional designed and provided course culminated in the production of two demos. Instructors reported that Dean's voice is smart, warm, articulate, pleasant, and appealing. |
