CREDITS
SKILLS
Voice Acting | I've studied in an intensive four-week Commercial Voice Acting course with renowned LA-based voice coach Marc Cashman. At all stages in his courses, Marc emphasises that commercial voiceover is voice acting. In this advanced course for VO professionals, I learned the fundamentals of delivering commercial and other types of copy and storytelling through the voice. |
Copywriting | As someone who has written news stories for the CBC National Radio News, learning content for companies' eLearning onboarding and training modules, and the scripts of a true crime podcast, I have a good understanding of how to craft a powerful story that grabs listeners' attention and keeps it. |

TRAINING
Marc Cashman Commercial Voice Acting | "The thing that distinguishes voice acting from all the other arts is the fact that you can't see the performer - you can only hear them...The story's almost solely dependent on your voice." This is how Marc Cashman sees the art of voiceover and it was the guiding principle of my training with him, as he taught me the fundamentals of telling a story behind a microphone - finding the music in copy, transitions and vocal pivots, listening, the sounds of punctuation, creating a back story, being believable, and reading off the page. |
Kim Hurdon Commercial Studio Class | I took the Kim Hurdon Commercial Studio Class in 2019. In this comprehensive and intensive professional studio class developed by Kim Hurdon, the Canadian Queen of Voice, I learned about maximising voice potential, vocal care, breathing technique, mic technique, how to take direction, studio protocol, industry information, and confidence. |
Professional One-on-One Voice Coaching with Nicky Guadagni | In 2019, I was coached by Nicky Guadagni. Guadagni, a RADA-trained and Genie Award-winning Canadian actress, coached me in Acting and Movement. Working at from the “outside-in” and at others from “inside-out”, she helped me dispel my cerebral haze and wake up my connection to my physical body. The body, she taught, is where our power, stamina, and determination are held. Like the very best teachers, she helped me release my authentic voice and rediscover a physical energy that was vital and mesmerising. |
Advanced Voiceover to Professional Standard - Gravy for the Brain | This course for Intermediate and Advanced-level voiceover artists taught me the standard professional-level skills expected of working voiceover artists today. |
