My name is Kenny Dunkwu and I am a British/Nigerian voice actor/entrepreneur. With over 10 years experience in the voice over industry, which has led me to work with notable clients in the UK and globally such as Amazon, BBC, Disney + Sky News, Mastercard and HP. I have excellent accent ability, take direction well and focus on core values of integrity, professionalism, accountability and a willingness to improve in all areas of my voice over business.

TRAINING
| Commercial Voice Training | 3 years voice coach training with a US based commercial coach. This training has helped improve my vocal techniques for commercial delivery, how to interpret and deliver commercial copy, create distinctive vocal personalities for high profile commercial brands, improv and comedic timing for comedic commercials and how to prepare for auditions, self-direct when recording and working with clients. |
| Dialect Coaching Training | I have had a dialect coach for a year and they have helped me to master the African-American and Neutral American accent. The training has included accent evaluation - assessing my current ability to perform the various accents, identify strengths and areas for improvement. Phonetics - l have also been learning the pronunciations, rhythms, phonemes and vocal tendencies of the two US accents, through phonetics training. Listening skills - ear training to recognise and replicate nuances of accents through exposure to native speakers. Accent acquisition - guiding me to through a process of to integrate and practice a new accent, in order to make it sound natural. Accent reduction - in order to minimise my own accent in order to acquire the neutral US accent. Dialect analysis - breaking down the key features of the accents - things like vowel, sounds, consonant changes, intonations rhythm etc. Speech patterns - working on dialect-specific patterns, grammatical structured idioms, slang, etc. Character voices - using the accent to create distinctive character voices for animation, video games etc. Pronunciation - perfecting pronunciation of words and names. Maintaining consistency - staying consistent with the accent, through long voice performances. Quick switching - guiding me to move swiftly between multiple accents within one dialect coaching session. |
