SKILLS
| Improv | I have a big passion for improv! I regularly perform and teach both long form and short form improv (in person and online) and thrive on opportunites to bring characters to life in the moment. I believe this skill has well prepared me to adapt to many characters and be able to easilly flow from one character to the next. Improv is all about understanding your character in the moment with no time to prepare. This skill means that I can quickly find the character needed for any voice over project and means that I am used to working collectively with others to bring characters to life. |
| Singing | I have been a singer all my life and have always enjoyed performing to an audience. My time as a singer has helped me to hone my audience interaction skills and I take great pride in the quality of my vocal performances. |
| Podcasting | I have been running the Liverpool Comedy Improvcast for over two years and am very proud of the show. The show is an interview style show where I interview improvisers from all over the world about their improv journey. There are also special episodes where I drill into a wide variety of improv topics with special guests. The podcast is a great way for me to connect with improvisers from all over the world and it has helped me to perfect my very relaxed interview style. I run the podcast by myself and that means that I find the guests, I do the interviews, I edit the episodes, I publish the episodes and I do all of the social media advertising etc. This not only showcases my versatile skillset, but demonstrates how I am able to stick to deadline, as I always ensure I stick to a stringent release schedule. |

From Summer Fayres to school Sports days, announcing swimming galas and athletic competitions, compèring improv and comedy shows, dance shows and various other live performances, voicing bingo and quiz nights and even spending time as a ring announcer for a wrestling company, there’s really nothing that phases me & I thrive on any opportunity to talk to a large crowd. |

| Acting/Improv and my life as an Educator | I am an experienced teacher and improv facilitator with nearly 20 years experience of guiding and helping to shape the minds of performers from age 6 to 60+. With a certificate of distinction from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, a Performing Arts Diploma with 9 Full Distinctions encompassing drama, music and dance, a Foundation Degree in Learning Support and a BA Hons in Education, Iain has spent many years honing his facilitation skills to help performers develop their character work. Discovering a passion for improv as a 6 year old when attending his local drama class, Iain has been developing as an improviser ever since and after 20 years of writing, producing and directing youth stage productions using improv techniques to help performers develop their character, Iain is now ready to put everything he has learned from his extensive experiences to help improvisers and actors fine tune their character development skills. |
