SKILLS
Voice Over, Public Speaking, Acting | Skills that: *keep people's attention, *motivates to action, *communicate emotions. *share ideas/stories in a manner that people will grasp and understand. Currently, I have three audio-books for sale on Amazon, Audacity and iTunes and more in the works. Titles available upon request. Won Club Toastmaster International Speaker of the year award three years running and once at the Divisional level. Placed second at Divisional Speech Contest. I have appeared in several theatre productions and on Canadian TV (ACTRA member at the time). Numerous performances as Tenor Soloist with Orchestras and Operas. |
Creative Thinking | Composer of piano and choral music - Pro Coro Canada (24 auditioned voice professional chamber choir) has given Premiers of my works. Have been a 'shadow writer' for other speakers on many diverse topics. As a current restaurant owner I have had to "be creative" when doing maintenance work especially here in Belize where nothing is available unless you know someone who is going to the States for a visit and can bring replacement parts back with them. |
Analytical Skills | When I retired from TELUS Communications in Canada I was a Systems Analyst (10 years). I was a member of a team of specialists whose responsibility was to discover why orders would "fall out" of the computer system, correct any errors found, contact and coordinate with the departments involved, contact customers if it affected them and ensure the system error was corrected so it would not happen again. I was also a new systems tester trying out new software and giving feedback to ensure its stability, functionality and results were as expected which was hardly ever. |
Professional Musician | Classically trained Tenor vocalist. Also, pianist and trombone player. Member of Pro Coro Canada from 1982 until 2008 (a 24 auditioned voice professional chamber choir) based in Edmonton, Canada. Performed a solo tour in spring of 1995 to Sweden, Denmark and Germany. Also appeared as guest soloist with several Canadian orchestra's and in Opera's. |

TRAINING
Voice training/acting/music | I have my Grade 8, Honours Standing from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada. At a young age I learned how to express emotions through my voice, learned confidence in front of an audience, learned stage presence, was introduced to vocal methodology, creative thinking, how to create a connection with my audience, script and music reading and learned basic acting skills for the theatre. When I became a member of the Association of Canadian Radio and Television Artists (ACTRA) which is the Canadian equivalent of AFTRA in the US, I participated in numerous classes and seminars in order to upgrade my skills including vocal speaking skills. |
Computer and Systems training | Through self initiated training with Skillsoft Online Training and attending the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Edmonton, Canada, I was able to learn computer logic, programming and systems. Because of this I was able to obtain employment with TELUS Communications in Canada and enjoy 10 years of an ever advancing career. |
